Welcome to tychoBCGEN (TYCHO Boundary Conditions GENerator), which you can download here. It is written in C++ with the Qt framework. The present version V0.5 is improved regarding speed. You have to choose tychoBCGEN V0.5 to generate the new files or change you existing files, by including an 200 bytes offset at the beginning (for metadata in you files) and a row-major order of the data. Aim of this application is the generation of 2D boundary conditions for TYCHO from sketches or even photos. In addition you can create windemitters like ventilators. This is done by selecting pixels in the same color-range and exporting these marked regions as solid boundaries. You are welcome to download it and do whatever you want with it. Keep in mind that this code does not come with any guarantee. To compile the sources you need a C++ compiler (e.g. http://gcc.gnu.org/) and the QT library including the qt-devel packages. Note that QT is available under the open source LGPL version 2.1 license, from the release of Qt 4.5 onward (read more). qmake-qt4 After compilation you should find the tychoBCGEN executable within the sources directory. Additional help is provided within tychoBCGEN See the video below for a short demonstration.
In this short TYCHO example a computational fluid dynamic simulation with boundary conditions generated by tychoBCGEN is shown. First a sketch of an obstalce in drawn on a piece of paper, then this sketch is scanned and processed by tychoBCGEN. The simulation setup is a constant windflow with 300 m/s from the left. Pressure and temperature distributions are presented.
